WEEK OF DECEMBER 10th, 2018

The week begins with the Moon in Capricorn conjoining with the South Node of the Moon and squaring Uranus: If you got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, rest assured that it gets better by Monday night.

The Moon in Capricorn conjoining with the South Node could translate as a feeling of being dragged down into a heavy swamp before breaking free from a burden imposed on us or simply finding release after being trapped in our own mental prisons. It could also be that today, we are reminded of what structures in our lives do not support us anymore.

The Moon enters Aquarius in approximately 8 hours and this should lighten us up and bring the breath of fresh air we so desperately crave. New ideas and new plans will be easier to generate on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The emphasis on Water signs at the moment (Chiron, Mars and Neptune in Pisces and Venus and Mercury in Scorpio aspecting the North Node in Cancer) brings attention to the healing of ancient emotional wounds:

The cuts are deep and painful and the anxiety is faceless. However there is a strong momentum to find the proper medicine to heal ourselves right now and we are determine to shed our old skin.

We can see new territories arising on the horizon and hope is in our heart. However we must first unload the heavy baggage if we are to move faster towards the promised land with renewed faith. We’ve come too far to back down.

This is the process we find ourselves in right now: Sorting through emotional baggage, wounds and fears that keeps us small. They have become so visible that it will be easier to accept them and bring changes to our behaviour. We are growing out of our old skin.

Mercury re-enters Sagittarius on Wednesday highlighting THE BIG PICTURE.

By Thursday morning, the emphasis shifts to Mutable signs and it is best to keep a flexible approach: You move with the changes, you work on your big ideas, your dreams, your healing and you accept what can’t be changed but you keep moving. Optimism is the best medicine right now.

With the Moon in Pisces on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, you could feel compelled to open your heart to the hardships of humanity as you become more sensitive to it. A good time for charity, for volunteering and to get into ”the true spirit of Christmas”.

Next Sunday, the Moon will be in the energizing Fire sign of Aries, igniting passion and bringing renewed vigour to our lives. Best spend the day finding mouvement to release any excess energy.

This week is the first Quarter Moon. The fresh ideas and the momentum that are born out of the New Moon in Sagittarius last Thursday are now being challenged.

This is a time in the monthly lunar cycle when we can clearly see how realistic (or not) our plans are and a call to action. There is a need to adjust our stance to match exterior circumstances which can be challenging. A good dose of pragmatism combined with a smile should get you through!

WEEK OF DECEMBER 3, 2018: BIG HOPES

The first part of the week has a predominance of WATER. The Moon enters Scorpio in a few hours and will travel here until Wednesday evening. WATER signs in Astrology💦= Emotions.

We are at the tail end of a long process of emotional sorting with the Venus retrograde in Scorpio and Libra for the last couple of months. Venus just re-entered Scorpio and will re-trace the backward path she took in October. Only this time, she is moving forward and she knows exactly what she needs to feel emotionally fulfilled.

Mars is in the WATER sign💦 of Pisces and will be conjoining Neptune all week. This is a dreamy and inspired signature with an underlying vibe of fantasy/rose-coloured glasses. Psychic insights and inspiration is turned on HIGH.

DREAMS can be super vivid and insightful. Mars/Neptune in Pisces is inspired transcendence OR delusional escaping: you get to choose.

With the Sun squaring Mars all week, it can also be a time of emotional drama and grudges and since Mars is with Neptune, there could be an underlying thread of anxiety and frustration.

Mercury turns direct in Scorpio on Thursday just before the New Moon in Sagittarius and we can expect glitches and miscommunication to be part of the week so be prepared.

You deal with the minor annoyances and you stay centred.

There is a lot of momentum for evolution right now so don’t go playing in the swamps (aka feeding drama): Camp in high places facing the Sun.🔥

The New Moon in Sagittarius🔥 is early Friday morning and this is like taking off in a big cosmic hot air balloon. We will gain a lot of perspective on our life and what we are doing in the next few weeks.

You might not be able to run away from all your problems but Friday’s New Moon in Sagittarius brings a breath of fresh air. The New Moon in Sagittarius🔥 marks the beginning of the festive season. We might have a bigger reservoir of hope and dreams and it might be easier to fill it up right now so take advantage of it.

Aim higher than you think.🏹 Stay positive. Look for the silver lining in your situation. If you are feeling stuck, now would be a good time to try a new way of dealing with recurring problems. Sagittarius season is your opportunity to bring a fresh perspective into your life, to get out of your comfort zone and of your own way.

This week, laughter IS the best medicine**!

**On Sunday December 9th: Chiron turns direct at 27 degrees of Pisces and will trine Mercury in Scorpio as it stations direct.

FULL MOON IN ARIES: THE GROWING PAINS OF AMBITION

The only salvation is to walk into your reality”

THE FALL OF THE SUN

The Sun moves into the sign of Libra late on the evening of September 22nd, signalling the Fall Equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere. This particular Libra season is closely connected to the harvest especially within our relationships. What was planted in the Spring must now be dealt with; the good, the bad, and everything in-between. The fruits are over ripped and soon, these fruits will need to be turned into wine before the frost and rot settles in.

Choices need to be made. Libra season is a transitional period, what weighs too heavy must now be left behind because not everything can be brought into the next season. Light and darkness illuminates and hides in equal measures rendering the decision process rather difficult.

Justitia, 1544, Battista Doss

FULL MOON IN ARIES: YOU CAN’T DO IT ALL BUT YOU CAN DO A LOT

The Full Moon in Aries arrives just in time to help with this sorting process by shedding light on our most painful wounds; the ones who keep us in old narratives, the ones who dictates who we are allowed to be, the ones filled with the poisons of anxiety and self-pity, the ones who keep us small and the ones who make us act from a place of hurt.

This Full Moon in Aries illuminates the vitalizing parts of ourselves: our personal power, our ambitions, and how we tend to our internal flame. Compromising might not be an option right now and stale agreements must be dealt with. There could also be an equal desire for connection and freedom that is not easily reconciled. As the light of the Sun diminishes so does the power of the ego, and this allows us to see the world in a different light.

In order to re-establish the balance, debts need to be paid, wounds cauterised and identities shed. What happened to you, your story is important, however you must question the baggage you are carrying and if it is serving you well on your journey to greater freedom of action. Some things are so heavy they might actually be hindering your progress. Is this heavy load really worth its weight? There is a lot of fresh and new incoming possibilities available and we are in many ways entering a new era.

FREEDOM IS A LIGHT HEART

Allegory of charity by Francisco de Zurbaran 1655

Much has happened since the beginning of the year and its a good time to take stock. The bad habits that were picked up since April are highlighted with this Full Moon, making it easier to cut through the gangrenous parts and prevent further infection from spreading.  However, to do this one must be willing to look at the wound directly.

This Full Moon is the perfect time to assess and bring light to the parts of yourself connected to your identity, your ego and how you bring that forth into the world. What are you feeling ambitious about these days and what is your action-plan? What parts of yourself are hindering your progress right now?

Spend some time contemplating the areas of your life where you might be acting out from a place of woundedness.  Are you keeping busy to avoid thinking about it? What are you feeling insecure about and is there a way to re-establish a sense of purpose in those hollow spaces?

The coping mechanism that were utilized to deal with stressors this Summer might not have been all healthy ones, but fighting against your nature is not the answer. There could be some part of you stuck in an old story playing over and over like a hypnotizing reflection ensnaring you in a broken mirror. It might feel really difficult to step outside of that story and create the space you need to move forward.

The Full Moon in Aries on September 24th/25th (depending on where you are on Earth), can help locate the places in your body and in your life you are trying to ignore. Pain is one of the greatest teacher. This Full Moon is your opportunity to sit with your teachers, whoever or whatever they might be, and listen to their wisdom.

Amazon and Centaur Franz von Stuck – 1912

“We took the path that led others nowhere and only we saw the light at the end of the tunnel. They warned us about the monsters we would encounter, the odds that we would meet. And they laughed when we got the scars while fighting the dragons on our way. When we came back out of the tunnel, holding the sword that they always craved for tightly in our hand. Bleeding and the sun shining on our face. We became the tales they wanted to be. We became the reflections of what they always wanted to see themselves through. We became the warriors they had always imagined of.” Akshay Vasu

FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN: The Reality of the world

children-at-brick-factory-1.jpe

The higher that the monkey can climb
The more he shows his tail
Call no man happy ’til he dies
There’s no milk at the bottom of the pail

God builds a church
The devil builds a chapel
Like the thistles that are growing
’round the trunk of a tree
All the good in the world
You can put inside a thimble
And still have room for you and me

If there’s one thing you can say about mankind
There’s nothing kind about man
You can drive out nature with a pitchfork
But it always comes roaring back again

Misery’s the river of the world
Misery’s the river of the world
Misery’s the river of the world

For want of a bird
The sky was lost
For want of a nail
A shoe was lost
For want of a life
A knife was lost
For want of a toy
A child was lost

FOR WHEN THE MOON IS FULL IN CAPRICORN

I could write an uplifting forecast to satisfy the longing you have deep inside your belly for ease and comfort. To get lost in the warmth of a happy memory, the memory of a simpler time; a time of innocence.

I could tell you that everything will be smooth sailing from here on out, and that all your wishes WILL come true…one day. I could write about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and the secrets of eternal youth but all these stories would lead you astray from the crux of the matter at the moment which is the impending Full Moon in Capricorn. Not only will the Moon be shining bright in Capricorn; the most cynical and hard-ass part of the Zodiac, the Moon will also be basking in the light of Saturn; the ultimate taskmaster.

The Full Moon arrives on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 12:53 AM EDT just a few days after Mars stations retrograde in Saturn’s home sign of Aquarius.

Like a cold shower, the Full Moon in Capricorn wakes up the dreamy sleeper in us and shines her stark light on our reality, and the work that still needs to be done in order to find that sweet spot. Since the work is never done and new lessons are ALWAYS just around the corner, the days surrounding this Full Moon could feel a little bit heavy. Don’t be surprised if you feel inadequate or melancholic as Saturn casts its shadows on our broken world.

SO MUCH TO DO, SO LITTLE TIME

Weaving the story that is shaping itself in the sky in the next few months, we can see threads of success and failure intertwined closely with threads of power and pride thanks to Mars retrograde motion in the sign of Aquarius.

As we become increasingly aware of time passing, we become bolder with the things we want to accomplish. Workload increases voluntary or involuntarily as we test the limits of what we can do. Success becomes a subjective vision in the distance as we hustle to become the utopian version of our to-do lists; this is Saturn and Mars.

The Full Moon in Capricorn casts a bright and lucid light on the current state of affairs. Wether this is in your personal life or in the world at large you might feel burdened by it all. Do not be startled by the reality of your situation. This is a time of assessment and adjustment and we must show up, roll up our sleeves, and do the work.

The goat standing on the ledge of a cliff does not look at the top of the mountain or the deep ravin below. Putting one foot in front of the other, she stays present in her situation using strategy and strength to patiently reach the delicious green grass.

Comfort will come…just not right now.

AQUARIUS: SUN/MOON/RISING

Most people know their Sun sign mainly due to popular Sun sign horoscopes. Fortunately, there is a lot more to astrology than a Sun sign and there are important distinctions to make when you begin to learn more about astrology.

The 3 ”pillars” of a natal chart are the Sun, the Moon and the Rising sign. Your Sun sign might not be the same as your Moon sign or your Rising sign.

If you want to find out more about your birth chart, you can contact me right here or you can head over to astro.com and generate your birth chart for free!

SUN IN AQUARIUS  ⊙♒

Aquarius Sun folks are involuntary trend setters. The reason for this is their ability to step outside of the mold while imagining new ones. They have the knack for creating pathways in places where no one dares to go. Their unusual mind tend to be interested in developing new and better ways of doing things. Creative genius, their energy is usually invested in alternative modalities or different modes of thinking. Aquarius Sun people know what it means to be an outsider, for this reason they are often interested in bringing their contribution to the underdog and the marginalized. Their attention being mostly oriented in the realm of ideas, Aquarius Sun people invest a lot of their energies conceptualizing new and better structures. Although these Aquarians can become extremely stubborn in pursuing their vision, they remain non-the-less interested in novelties and open to anything that can better their understanding of what it means to be human.

MOON IN AQUARIUS ☽♒

If you have the privilege to be acquainted with an Aquarius Moon, then you know these folks enjoy their solitude and personal time. These mysterious creatures are difficult to get know. The  invisible boundaries that delineates the perimeters of their heart is such that no one can truly understand what goes on in their inner world. Moon in Aquarius folks are extremely kind and compassionate individuals and value their connections. However, they remain mostly misunderstood by their surroundings because of their seemingly aloof and detached nature. Philanthropist at heart, Aquarius Moon sensitivity is awaken by the injustice of this world. They are the first one to give the shirt off their back if someone is in need. These Aquarians are for the most part non-materialistic and happy to go without if they know it will help the less fortunate. There is perhaps only one thing that an Aquarius Moon would not give freely, and that is their alone time.

AQUARIUS RISING Asc♒

If you know your astrology, then you know that the rising sign is often linked to the physical appearance. Aquarius rising people usually have a distinctive look. Most people have a doppelgänger and were told at some point in their lives that they look like someone else. This is less common with Aquarius rising folks, not because of some eccentric feature but simply because of their unique karisma. These Aquarians are quirky and individualistic, and their preoccupations often brings them to be deeply involved in their field of interest. Intellectuals by nature, Aquarius rising are inhabited by the zeitgeist of the past, present, and future. Time has a special meaning for these folks, and their actions are often motivated by change and legacy as oppose to personal recognition. Activist by nature, you can  find the Aquarius rising hard at work, leading the way towards lasting changes in their social sphere, and in the world at large.

NEW MOON IN AQUARIUS: Revolving Doors

Do what he will, he [the profane man] is an inheritor. He cannot utterly abolish his past, since he himself is a product of his past. He forms himself by a series of denials and refusals, but he continues to be haunted by the realities that he has refused and denied.
― Mircea Eliade

The second of two eclipses this month comes with the New Moon in Aquarius on February 15 at 4:05pm ET.

It takes place at 27º of Aquarius, only a few days before the Sun’s ingress into the Water sign of Pisces. This partial eclipse is near the Dragon’s Tail aka the South Node of the Moon which is in part connected to a dissolution process.

In the last few weeks, Venus, Mercury and the Sun all met with the South Node of the Moon. This had the effect of dredging up all sorts of gunk from the bottom of our psyche which is ready to be cleansed and expelled back into the void.

“There is a face beneath this mask, but it isn’t me.
I’m no more that face than I am the muscles beneath it, or the bones beneath that.”
― Steve Moore, V for Vendetta

Aquarius is a Fixed Air sign traditionally ruled by Saturn. The purifying Waters of the water bearer cleanse the heart and clarifies the mind. Since the beginning of February, residues from past emotional burdens have been floating around on the surface of our awareness like dead skin on the surface of water. The dim light of the Sun in the sign of Aquarius allowed for a sort of detachment in regards to these afflictions, and perhaps the ability to find rational solutions for twisted emotional conundrums. The rays of the Sun are pale in the midst of Winter, and illumination comes from within.

The Full Moon in Leo on January 31st, served to highlight what weighs heavy on our heart but also connected us to our heart’s longing. The New Moon in Aquarius on February 15, stirs in us the potentialities of ideas born from these longings which in turn conjures new creative impulses deep inside of us. We can imagine a new trajectory for ourselves; will we have the courage to follow through?

Although still in their abstract forms, we can intuit the shape of things to come. New seeds are now being planted in foreign soil as we gaze on the vast territories of future promises. We must accept estrangement and embrace this liminal space for the time being as we fuel on the creative fires. The eclipses on the Leo/Aquarius axis ask that we have the courage of our ideals and the willingness to break our own rules in order to reach them. Nothing new is born in conformity and we must depart from the known if we are to realize what our heart longs for. We must also be willing to walk away from our love of approval and this is perhaps the most difficult task.

Unbelonging looms large in the uncharted Aquarian world, and seeking ”likes” and acknowledgment will only lead to disappointment. The resolute heart must find support within himself.

At the time of the New Moon, Saturn, the traditional ruler of Aquarius sextiles Venus in Pisces. This aspect speaks of calibrating our desires in a realistic framework, finding the sweet spot within our limitations and perhaps, the right measure of inspiration and work. Saturn in its home sign of Capricorn and Venus in the sign of her exaltation, dispense the proper tools for those who know how to utilize them. This aspect is also about maturity within our relationship and the realistic appraisal of our desire nature.

At the time of the New Moon, Uranus, the modern ruler of Aquarius sextiles Mercury in Aquarius.  This aspect speaks of an urge to break away from limiting through patterns and complicated situations/emotions that limits our vision. Mercury in Aquarius still squaring Jupiter in Scorpio is all about the honest appraisal of these complicated situations/emotions and perhaps unacknowledged desires that could be holding us back from truly breaking free from restrictions.

We must first clean out our basement before we can totally move out. Mars in Sagittarius applying to square Neptune in Pisces at the time of the New Moon, promises to blur and confuse this process. Ensuring that we are aiming at the proper target requires an honest assessment of the motivations hiding behind our arrows. Clarifying our intent is half the battle and our ability to differentiate the ideal from the real will take us a bit closer to the realization of our vision for the future.

VENUS IN PISCES ♀♓︎

Venus enters Pisces, the sign of her exaltation from February 10 until March 6.

Venus is considered exalted in the sign of Pisces and Venusian matters like love, music, art, beauty, money, pleasure and attraction have an easier time expressing themselves when she travels here.

We might crave ease and comfort during her month-long transit in Pisces, and this is possible if we heed the lessons of Saturn currently in its home sign of Capricorn. Nothing is free in this world and pleasure is to be found in maturity and pragmatism this year. Venus in Pisces contemplates eternity while Saturn in Capricorn looks for a solid framework.

Venus also applies to square with Mars in Sagittarius for most of February; you might have to adjust your vision, and be prepared to have your faith tested while you reach for the gold.

Applying a stoic perspective to our longings can help us succeed. A healthy dose of desire and the willingness to put in a sincere effort can lead to the success of our endeavours.

This month-long transit of Venus through Pisces supports our ability to find joy and beauty, while the sextile from Saturn can teach us how to sustain these states in the long run.

NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN: SNAKES & LADDERS

“Understand however that every man is worth just so much
as the things are worth about which he busies himself.”
―Marcus Aurelius

The New Moon shines its dim light in the last decan of Capricorn only a few days before the Sun enters the vision cleansing waters of Aquarius. The Sun and Moon at 26º Capricorn will be joined by Venus at 28º Capricorn emphasizing long-term desires, and the work required to find lasting pleasures on this Earth. Since the 19th of December, we have gotten acquainted with Saturn in its home sign of Capricorn. What is worth our time, and what is not is becoming increasingly clear; the process of replacing short-term frivolity with activities that will bring lasting legacies is well underway.

Time is of the essence, and time is money has never rung so true.

The Earth sign of Capricorn brings an emphasis on the concrete actions and the work required to upgrades one’s lot, whether this has to do with material reality or bigger goals we have set for the year ahead. The New Moon in Capricorn on Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning is the obvious sign post at the beginning of our climb. Our desires could feel quite ambitious against the stark reality of our circumstances and what lays ahead. However, there is a lot of power and momentum behind us and the timing is right.

Since mid-December, we have surveyed the paths, rivers, structures , and obstacles that surrounds us and took note of what is helping or deterring us from advancing in our climb. We now have a pretty good understanding of the territory, and we can see where we are in relation to where we want to be. We are in a foundational phase of our ascent; some ties will need to be cut, some structures will need to be solidified and some new anchors will need to be installed.

The New Moon in Capricorn is a grain of sand in Saturn’s hour-glass; we can see with lucidity what must stay, what must go, what is working, and what is broken. Capricorn’s rational is such that no time is wasted on things that can’t bring quality and lasting results to one’s life. We can sense the important momentum hidden in the decisions we make, the actions we take, and the influence our choices will have on the future. If all of this feels a bit too heavy, keep faith and embrace your current challenges without letting pessimism take over.

Realism and pragmatism is part of this cycle; do not shun the hard work you have chosen for yourself and develop your tolerance. Lastly, know your worth and don’t settle for too little. The mountain is big but your Soul is eternal.

“A cucumber is bitter. Throw it away. There are briars in the road. Turn aside from them.
This is enough. Do not add, ‘And why were such things made in the world?’”
Marcus Aurelius

Jupiter & Mars in Scorpio: Fixated & Transfixed

MARS IN SCORPIO

Mars in Scorpio is seemingly immovable while simultaneously thriving in changing circumstances. How can this be? It pushes against anything that resists while resisting all changes. This resistance offers the power, but power has a cost and something must be sacrificed, mainly: safety.

Power is gathered slowly here, but one must know exactly when and how to strike. Resisting too long increases the risk of putrefaction, but a festering state can be a fertile terrain for metamorphosis. Sometime one must be pushed to decompose in order to connect with the raw powers of renewal.

“It was all a lie, it all stank, stank of lies,
it all gave the illusion of meaning and happiness and beauty,
and all of it was just putrefaction that no one would admit to.
Bitter was the taste of the world. Life was a torment.”
-Hermann Hesse

GROWING PAINS

Mars and Jupiter are together in Scorpio right now, which reflects these themes or resistance and surrender. There is a desire for an honest narrative, a genuine experience , true connections, and the bullshit radar is cranked on high. The wounds are magnified and we are aiming our fires directly at them in order to cauterised the open sores.

The part of your chart where Scorpio is found is under tremendous pressure to transform. Whatever has expired at this point is obvious, although it might be the only thing you want to hold on to. It can feel familiar to live with problems, it can even be comforting giving you meaning and purpose. However, familiarity is not necessarily productive and with Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto in Capricorn right now, we are looking to build solid foundations while destroying the old structures.

Capricorn ambition ushered us into the New Year. Capricorns are famous for being hard on themselves. The list of future accomplishments is long and our plans to secure success could border on zealousness. There is a changing of the guards. The grip is strong and the answer lies in what we are resisting, or what is resisting us. This process is slow and painful, but the rocks need to be removed first before we can plant the seeds.

Great ambition is the passion of a great character.
Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts.
All depends on the principles which direct them.
-Napoleon Bonaparte
